Tripadvisdor Review – April 2019

Fabulous short break

This is our third stay at la Pergola and was a lovely short break before the Easter rush. We upgraded to half board before we travelled and feel we got value for money. The hotel is very clean and the staff very friendly…

Tripadvisdor Review – April 2019

Wonderful

We stayed here whilst walking the GR221 for a little bit of luxury and that is exactly what we got. Watching the sunset made it extra special.

Booking Review – May 2019

Fantastic apartment and area

Plenty of space in our apartment, very clean with everything we needed, plenty of windows around the apartment letting in a lot of natural light.

The most essential summer festivals in Mallorca in summer 2024

The most essential summer festivals in Mallorca in summer 2024

Mallorca's summer is brimming with festivals and traditional festivities celebrated in villages across the length and breadth of the island. While June kicks off with events like the Mallorca Live Festival, San Juan festivities, and Sa Pobla's Potato Fair, July brings acclaim to saints, Moors, Christians, and charming local traditions.

At La Pérgola, we've compiled the main festivities so you can enjoy an authentic Mallorcan summer.

Campanet Festivities: Sant Victorià

In early July, Campanet celebrates the Sant Victorià festivities, one of the town's most anticipated events. Over eight days, this Mallorcan town hosts races, dances, concerts, and parades for the enjoyment of adults and children alike.

One of the town's chapels houses a neoclassical altarpiece alongside an urn containing the saint's remains. Originating from the catacombs of Rome, it was a gift from Pope Pius IV to Cardinal Despuig, who then donated it to Campanet.

Since then, the town celebrates its patron saint every July.

San Cristòfol in S’Arenal de Llucmajor

Also in early July, a highlight in the calendar is the patron saint festivities of Sant Cristòfol in Llucmajor's S’Arenal. These festivities are filled with dances, contests, children's games, and correfocs—traditional parades where groups of devils (collas de dimonis) fill the night with fire and drum beats.

It's an ideal opportunity to visit a part of Mallorca where the beach takes on a whole new dimension.

Son Serra de Marina Festivities

Son Serra de Marina is a privileged area of Mallorca, located very close to Can Picafort and Santa Margarita. It stands out for its beautiful beaches, ideal for practicing all kinds of water sports, and for the festivals held in the municipality at the end of July.

These festivals typically include outdoor solidarity dinners, vibrant and original parties like Flower Power, children's races, concerts, dances, and gastronomic competitions.

They provide a perfect excuse to visit a charming area of the island.

Virgen del Carmen Celebrations in Andratx Port

Mid-July marks the grand celebration of Virgen del Carmen, one of the most important festivals in Andratx Port. As the patron saint of fishermen, boats are adorned with decorations and garlands on a central day of the festival.

Following a mass in honor of the patron saint, a procession carries the Virgin's image through the streets to the port, where she boards a boat for a tour of the bay.

The festivities also feature the Night of the Horses, with numerous ring races, equestrian demonstrations, and the traditional "bots" or jumps performed by riders on their well-trained mounts.

During these days in Andratx, there are also correfocs, fiery parades with drums and "dimonis" that transform the streets into a spectacle of light and fire.

At La Pérgola, this is one of our favorite festivals, and we continually encourage you to visit Andratx Port to experience it like a true Mallorcan.
